Empress Africa

Africa the Empress, Empress Africa

Once upon a time, you were simply born as Pangea,

You now are just an oppressed image to every eye.

Your charming vision for unity dwelt in the human soul,

And was manifested in the form of a tower in Babel.

Alas, corrupted that vision became,

When the desire was tainted by greed and hate,

The sinful human soul tarnished your magnificent spirit,

Breaking it into multiple identities and personalities,

Your very core and your very soul, nobody knows and cares,

That it seeks recognition, love, and to just been heard.

Africa the Empress, Empress Africa

Once upon a time, your many spirits understood each other,

Like myrrh and peppermint, their blended scents filled Earth’s corners,

Like a treasure trove of jewels, their united identities lit up the world,

Diamond, Silver, Gold and Platinum on one side,

Pearl, Emerald, Orichalcum and Black Diamonds on the other

Africa the Empress, Empress Africa

Simply called Pangea, at the Tower of Babel,

God’s Wisdom and Understanding blessed your world’s corners

Alas, greed, hate, and the many sins of men had split your unity,

And robbed you of your blessings,

You were stripped off your knowledge, blocked from your sagacity,

You could no longer evolve in intelligence like your peers at your world’s corners,

And your vision has been marred by ignorance and prejudice.

Africa the Empress, Empress Africa,

No longer adorned in regal outfit,

Now ashamed and in sackcloth,

Your people spit on you, rip your freedom and identity to shred,

Your spirit lives among the dungs of animals,

And others take pity on you simply to satisfy their wretched souls,

Mere foods and woeful prayers, they are not enough,

All you want, and all you need, is to be heard, respected, and loved.

Africa the Empress, Empress Africa

Once upon a time, you were simply born as Pangea,

Before, you were just an oppressed image to every eye,

Now, as stars and constellations, it is time for you to shine,

Your peers around your world’s corners have taken off like eagles.

It is time, my empress, to spread your wings again and fly.
